Established in 1839, Eloise Asylum was initially built as a psychiatric hospital for the mentally ill. Over the years, it evolved into a complex encompassing various medical facilities, including a tuberculosis sanatorium and a poorhouse. The asylum’s history is filled with tales of compassion, tragedy, and mystery, making it a fascinating place to explore.

Haunted Attraction
Eloise has transformed. Experience two walk-through, state-of-the-art, fully immersive haunted attractions at a truly haunted location! With cutting-edge production technology, and over 30,000 sq ft of horror-themed immersion, Eloise is haunted experience like no other haunted house ever seen in Michigan.
With a dedicated team of over 120 event staff and trained scare actors. This thrilling walk-through attraction is anticipated to last around 35-40 minutes, ensuring a heart-pounding adventure for all. Not only will you have a scream-inducing time, but you’ll also be supporting a worthy cause. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the on-site homeless shelter, making your visit even more meaningful.

Paranormal Investigations
Join us for an unforgettable paranormal experience at Eloise Asylum, renowned for its notorious paranormal activity. Our public paranormal tours are held most Saturday evenings (and select Fridays) throughout the year. You’ll have the chance to explore various hot spots in this former State Hospital, using your own equipment or the asylum’s. Paranormal investigation teams are welcome, but please note that other groups will also be on site.
Upon arrival to the Kay Beard Building, guests will be asked to check-in and complete their waivers. Once done, guests will be broken into smaller groups with a dedicated guide. These guides are Eloise Paranormal experts who can answer your questions about the site and the paranormal. We offer an array of investigating gear for guests to use or you are welcome to bring your own.
History Tours
Step into the past and embark on a captivating journey through the grounds of the infamous Eloise Asylum. Led by our knowledgeable house historians, this 3-hour tour takes you through the Kaybeard building and the surrounding grounds, offering a fascinating history presentation along the way.
